UPSTATE NEW YORK A $200,000 HOUSE --- ABOUT $5000


PHYSICIAN PRACTICES ARE BEING SQUEEZED BETWEEN THE HIGH COST OF MEDICAL LIABILITY INSURANCE AND STAGNATING (IF NOT DECLINING) REIMBURSEMENT FROM HEALTH INSURERS.  PHYSICIANS AND PATIENTS MUST CONTINUE TO LET THEIR LEGISLATORS KNOW THAT HEALTH CARE ACCESS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES WILL BE SERIOUSLY HARMED IF THESE PROBLEMS GO UNADDRESSED.

Governor Patterson agress that something needs to be done.  The deadine is June 2010 or else New York will be in BIG trouble.

Some legislators want to put doctors in a "risk pool" and let those doctors pay the higher premiums instead of all doctors sharing it.  This would mainly include (Obstetricians and Surgeons). .......How nice, no one will be able to have a baby or needed surgery.

They have talked about surcharging each doctor $50,000 and then increasing the rates 10% a year for a bunch of years.

Don't laugh, many states have had similiar problems.
Nevada lost all if its trauma surgeons for a few weeks because of malpractice premiums.

If MLMIC goes under.....NEW YORK STATE itself will be responsiblefor the costs.  MLMIC is apparently almost insolvent.

Did you notice the recent "NEW" multi year tax on your electric bill?
A tax to do a tax return?????????

Almost not possible to live in NY.
